But, all in all, what I need is just the core features, so it would be nice to have them as a separate QML plugin.
Don’t worry, I’m working on it. And if you see the README included in my code, you will see that I introduced some config switch to disable many features.

As far as understand, what I need is the “base” thing from your lib. Could you please put it into a separate QML plugin?
Each config switch add a feature. You might only need the basic widget provider, that search for widgets in a folder, so you should add CONFIG+=pluginproviderbasic.
Tutorial will come as well as demo code. I’m on it.
